Golden Wax 494 is a natural soy wax designed for cake and wax melts.
It is perfect for creating smooth and shiny wax melts.
Golden Wax 494 has excellent fragrance release, easy removal from the mold and retains strong vibrant colours.
We would not recommend this wax for candles, due to the botanicals it will not burn with a wick.
No animal products are used and no animal testing is performed.
Melting and casting of wax melts
The melting point is 49-52C.
Temporary high temperatures (up to 90°C) have no adverse effect as long as the wax has cooled down quickly. At higher temperatures, the wax may discolour. Allow the wax to cool to the desired pouring temperature, add the fragrance at about 70°C and mix well. Be sure to stir/mix the wax as you melt. Digital thermometers are readily available and are a safer choice than traditional glasses.
Pouring temperatures should be fairly high (71°C), unless you’re pouring into plastic shells, we recommend no higher than 60°C.
Casting temperatures may vary depending on the type of mold, size, fragrance and dye used, and the effects the candle maker wants to achieve.
Fragrance wax melts
GW 494 can be used with fragrance levels from 5-10%, add fragrance close to pouring temperature (approximately 60 degrees) for best results.
Color
You can use liquid and chip dye with GW 494.
