This beard oil has a great natural scent, it smells great.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml grapeseed oil
  • 4 drops ylang-ylang essential oil
  • 2 drops patchouli essential oil
  • 1 drop cinnamon essential oil

Steps to Making Beard Oil

Here are the steps to follow when making your beard oil.

  1. Begin by sterilizing your bottles. You can do this by boiling your bottles in a pot of water – make sure you start boiling when the bottles are already in the water to prevent cracking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, start by combining a drop of essential oil with your chosen carrier oil. Keep adding carrier oils and essential oils until you have a nice, creamy consistency.
  3. You may need to microwave your mixture to help loosen up your carrier oil. If you are looking for a beard oil that has the consistency more like a cream, I recommend adding beeswax or shea butter – both of these will give your oil a nice, creamy consistency and make it easier to apply (more like a salve).
  4. Once you have an oil that is the texture and scent you prefer, you can go ahead and use it. I don’t recommend certain mixing quantities because it is truly a matter of preference -and will also depend on the needs of your specific beard type.
  5. Go ahead and use! Depending on how much mixture you end up with, you can store it in a cool, dark location for several months. You may have to microwave it between uses.
