DIY Lemon Poppy Seed Soap Recipe

Ingredients for lemon poppy seed soap recipe

• 280 gr of coconut oil
• 280 gr Olive oil
• 280 gr Palm oil
• 93 gr Rice bran oil
• 130 gr Sodium hydroxide
• 306 gr Distilled water
• Yellow mica
• Black mica
• 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds
• 10 ml Lemon verbena fragrance oil
• 30 ml Champagne Fragrance Oil
• Silicone Cake Mold

Instructions for lemon poppy seed soap recipe

1. Slowly and carefully add the lye to the water and stir gently until the lye is completely dissolved and the liquid is clear. Allow the mixture to cool.
2. Combine the Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Flake Oil and Palm Oil (remember to melt and mix your Palm Oil completely before portioning). Once the lye water and oils have cooled to 55 degrees Celsius or below (and ideally are within 5 degrees Celsius of each other), add the lye water to the oils and mix until you achieve a light trace.
3. Once you reach a light trace, pour about 3 cups of batter into a second bowl.
4. Add 3 tsp. Add yellow mica to this second bowl. Mix the dye with a whisk.
5. Add half of the fragrance oil, and use a whisk to mix.
6. Carefully pour the yellow soap into the mold. Tap firmly on the bottom to remove any air bubbles and spread the soap evenly.
7. To make the mica stripe, sprinkle a thin layer of black mica over the yellow soap you just poured. To make the mica spread evenly, close your eyes and gently blow on the powder. Beware, this part can get a little messy!
8. In a first bowl, add the remaining fragrance mixture. Use a whisk to mix everything well.
9. Add 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds, and use a whisk to mix completely.
10. Carefully and slowly pour the white soap into the mold. To prevent the white soap from breaking through into the yellow layer, you can choose to pour the soap into the mold over a spatula.
11. Use a spatula to gently make a wave pattern on the top of the soap. Let the soap sit in the mold for 3-4 days before taking it out.
12. Let the soap cure for 4-6 weeks and enjoy.
