EcoShea candle wax comes from small-scale West African farmers and is grown traditionally with minimal environmental impact. It is the ideal combination of luxury and sustainability. EcoShea is a high-quality, natural candle wax enriched with shea butter. Developed specifically for making container candles, this wax offers excellent fragrance diffusion, a smooth finish and sustainable burning. Thanks to its natural origin, EcoShea is an eco-friendly alternative to kerosene wax without compromising on performance.

Processing & Instructions for Use

1. Container preparation

Make sure the containers are clean and free of grease or dust. The temperature of the container should be at least room temperature. For better adhesion of the wax to the walls, preheating to about 45-50°C is recommended.

2. Melting the wax

Weigh the desired amount of EcoShea and heat to 70-75°C until the wax is completely melted. Brief heating to a maximum of 90°C is possible, but avoid prolonged heating above 85°C to avoid discoloration. Stir frequently for even heating.

3. Add color

  • Powdered dyes: add at about 75°C and stir well until completely dissolved.
  • Liquid dyes or color blocks: add at about 70°C.
Optionally, dye can be dissolved in the fragrance first for better distribution.

4. Add scent

Add fragrances just before pouring, when the wax is about 70-75°C. Stir well. Preferably use fragrance agents suitable for natural waxes. EcoShea can contain up to 12% fragrance, but 8-10% is usually sufficient for good fragrance diffusion.

5. Casting the wax

The ideal pouring temperature is between 45-55°C. Depending on the type of container and ingredients added, an adjustment of 5-10°C up or down can provide better adhesion and fewer surface pits. If necessary, a second pour can be done to level the surface.

6. Cooling and curing

Let the candles cool slowly and undisturbed at room temperature (± 25°C). Avoid drafts, cold or heat sources nearby. After solidifying, let the candles harden for at least 48 hours before testing or using them.

7. Testing and adjusting

After curing, perform a test burn. Caution:

  • Flame height and stability
  • Diameter of the weld pool
  • Fuse behavior

For problems such as tunneling, sooting or weak flame, you can experiment with different wick sizes or casting temperatures.

Why choose EcoShea?

EcoShea is the perfect choice for makers who want to combine sustainability with quality. The addition of shea butter provides a nurturing and luxurious character, ideal for candles with a natural look and sophisticated fragrance diffusion.
