What are cetyl alcohol beads?

Cetyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol often used in the formulation of various cosmetic products, including lotions, creams and shampoos. It is a waxy substance extracted from natural sources such as coconut oil and palm oil. Cetyl alcohol is often used as a thickener, emulsifier and stabilizer in cosmetic formulas because of its ability to bind oils and water-based ingredients together.

Cetyl alcohol also occurs in the form of beads, small, spherical particles that dissolve in water. These beads are usually made from cetyl alcohol and other ingredients such as cellulose or starch. They are used in cosmetic products to exfoliate and improve the texture of the product.

Use of cetyl alcohol beads in cosmetics

One of the benefits of cetyl alcohol beads is that they are gentle on the skin. Unlike some other exfoliating ingredients, such as apricot kernels or walnut shells, cetyl alcohol granules are non-abrasive and do not cause microcracks in the skin. This makes them an excellent option for individuals with sensitive skin.

Cetyl Alcohol must be dissolved in heated oil of about 60 degrees Celsius; you cannot add it to a cold mixture. The more Cetyl Alcohol you use, the thicker the texture of your final product. The recommended percentage of Cetyl alcohol has a softening effect (dosage <1.5%), light emulsifying and thickening effect. At a dosage of 1.5- 3%, it provides emulsions that are non-greasy to the touch and absorb quickly without gloss.

Benefits of cetyl alcohol beads in cosmetics

Cetyl alcohol beads also have moisturizing properties. When used in cosmetic products, they help moisturize the skin and prevent it from drying out. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with dry or dehydrated skin.

Our cetyl alcohol is vegan, animal test free, extracted from sustainable palm oil (RSPO), free of GMO, nano and preservative, suitable for natural cosmetics.
