Polysorbate 80 or Tween is a product that allows you to dissolve fragrance oils and essential oils in water. In addition, Polysorbate 80 is also an emulsifier. An emulsifier is a substance that helps to mix two substances that are normally not or difficult to mix. In this way an emulsion is formed.

Polysorbate 80 is soluble in water and not soluble in alcohol and oils. It works best for mixing / dissolving oils in water such as fragrance oil and can be very useful for making lotions, room sprays, and body creams. You can also use it in bath fizz or salt scrubs. Polysorbate 80, when used in bath bubbles, keeps the colors from sticking to the bath.

UsingPolysorbate 80 and Tween

We recommend using 1-5% as an emulsifier in lotions and up to 50% in bath oil, for example, or when you want to mix fragrances in water.
