Cherry Bath Truffles
These colorful cherry bath truffles provide a luxurious bathing experience filled with soft foam and a delightful sweet, fruity scent. For this recipe, we use sweet rose fragrance oil, a warm and romantic scent with sweet floral notes that perfectly complements the pink and gold colors of these bath truffles.
The bath truffles contain a generous amount of cocoa butter, which not only creates a rich lather but also deeply nourishes the skin, leaving it feeling soft. Their ice cream scoop shape gives them a playful look, while the layers of pink, gold, and light pink mica create a beautiful dessert-like effect.
These Bubble Bath Truffles are easy to make and make a perfect handmade gift for birthdays, holidays, or a luxurious DIY pampering kit.

How to Make Cherry Bubble Bath Truffles
Step 1
Sift the sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and SLSA into a large mixing bowl. Gently mix everything together with a whisk.
Tip: SLSA can generate a lot of fine dust. Therefore, wear gloves and a dust mask while working with it.
Step 2
Weigh out the cocoa butter and melt it in the microwave in 30-second intervals until it is completely melted.
Cocoa butter provides a creamy, nourishing bath experience. If desired, you can substitute it with shea butter, mango butter, kokum butter, or a combination of coconut oil and shea butter.
Step 3
Add 6 ml of Sweet Rose Fragrance Oil, vegetable glycerin, and polysorbate 80 to the melted cocoa butter. Mix everything together thoroughly.
Step 4
Pour the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients and mix with gloves until a uniform mixture forms. Knead the mixture until it feels like soft modeling clay.
Step 5
Divide the mixture evenly among three bowls.
Add the following to each bowl:
- Dark Pink: Bright Pink Mica
- Gold: Golden Sparkle Mica
- Light Pink: Light Pink Mica
Knead each color thoroughly until the mica is completely incorporated.
Step 6
Line a tray with parchment paper so the Bubble Bath Truffles don’t stick while they’re drying.
Step 7
Fill the ice cream scoop in three layers:
- Dark pink
- gold
- Light pink
Press each layer down firmly so that the colors remain clearly visible when the Bubble Bath Truffle comes out of the scoop.
Step 8
Open the ice cream scoop and gently place the Bubble Bath Truffle on the parchment paper.
Repeat this until all the mixture has been used up. Depending on the size of the ice cream scoop, you’ll make about 18 to 20 Bubble Bath Truffles.
Step 9
Let the Bubble Bath Truffles dry for 3 to 5 days in a dry place. After about 24 hours, they will feel firm, but allowing them to cure completely will give you the best results.
Use
Place one Bubble Bath Truffle under the running bath faucet while the tub is filling. The running water will create a rich layer of foam. You can also place the truffle directly in the tub and break it into small pieces for a slower fizzing reaction.
Please note: The butter in the bath may make the surface slippery. Therefore, please step in and out of the bath carefully.
Save
Store the Bubble Bath Truffles in a dry place in a tightly sealed, airtight container. Moisture can cause the fizzing reaction to start prematurely.
When stored properly, the Bubble Bath Truffles generally remain in optimal condition for about 6 months.
About SLSA and Polysorbate 80
SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate) is a mild foaming ingredient derived from coconut or palm oil. It creates the abundant bubbles that Bubble Bath Truffles are known for.
Polysorbate 80 acts as an emulsifier and helps the fragrance oils, cocoa butter, and micas blend evenly with the bath water. This keeps the oils well dispersed and reduces the risk of color bleeding or oil rings in the bath.
