Sparkling Citrus Bath Bomb Recipe

Bright, cheerful, and wonderfully festive. These golden-orange bath bombs combine the zesty character of clementines with warming seasonal spices, creating a wonderful winter bathing experience.

Ingredients

• Sodium bicarbonate 270 g
• Citric acid (anhydrous) 135 g
• Cornstarch 45 g
• Kaolin clay, 20 g
• Sweet almond oil 15 g
• Polysorbate 80, 10 g
• Star anise
• Fragrance oil: Golden Clementine & Festive Herbs, Max. 5 g
• Orange Dye for Cosmetics As needed
• Bath Bomb Shape 1

Instructions

1. Mix the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, and kaolin clay in a large, dry mixing bowl.
2. In a separate bowl, mix the sweet almond oil, polysorbate 80, and the measured amount of fragrance oils.
3. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients a little at a time, stirring constantly.
4. Add a small amount of orange food coloring that is safe for use in the bath.
5. Mix until the texture resembles slightly damp sand and holds together when you squeeze it. If necessary, add a very fine mist of a suitable binding agent, but be careful not to activate the mixture.
6. Press the mixture firmly into bath bomb molds.
7. Carefully remove them from the mold and let them dry for 24–48 hours in a low-humidity environment, or until they are completely cured.
8. Store them in an airtight container, away from moisture.
