Aperol Spritz Scented Candle – DIY Recipe
Want to make a candle that looks like a summer cocktail? With this recipe, you can create a beautiful scented candle inspired by the iconic Aperol Spritz. With its vibrant orange hues, realistic wax ice cubes, and a dried orange slice, this candle is a real eye-catcher. Perfect as a decoration, a gift, or to expand your collection of handmade candles.
For best results, we recommend using a Wax Melting Pot Set for Handmade Scented Candles. This allows you to melt wax easily and safely, maintain precise temperature control, and create beautiful, professional-looking layers.

Ingredients
For the colored base
- 210 g gel wax
- Red papaya candle dye
- Neon Orange Candle Dye
For decorative ice cubes
- 30 g of gel wax, cut into cubes
For the scent
We recommend our Aurora Orange fragrance oil for this candle.
This fresh and sunny fragrance combines sparkling citrus notes with delicate white flowers and a warm, soft base. Its lively, summery character perfectly complements the essence of an Aperol Spritz.
Recommended dosage: 8 to 10% of the total wax weight.
For this recipe, which calls for 240 grams of wax, use about 19 to 24 grams of Aurora Orange fragrance oil.
For decoration
- 1 dried orange slice
Step 1: Prepare the glass
Secure the wick in the center of the glass with a wick sticker or a dot of glue. Make sure the wick stays nice and straight throughout the entire process.
Step 2: Make the orange layers
Melt the gel wax in the measuring cup.
Once the wax has completely melted, divide it between two pouring pots. Color the first portion red-orange and the second portion bright orange. Add the recommended amount of Aurora Orange fragrance oil to both portions and stir well.
First, pour the red papaya-colored layer into the glass and let it cool until a firm skin forms on the surface. Then carefully pour the lighter orange layer on top to create the typical Spritz gradient. Leave about 2 cm of space at the top of the glass.
Step 3: Make the ice cubes
Next, cut irregular cubes from the gel wax to create a realistic ice cube effect.
Place the wax ice cubes in the orange layer. Then place the dried orange slice against the inside wall of the glass.
Step 4: Let it cure
Let the candle rest for at least 24 hours so that all layers can harden completely. Then trim the wick to about 6 mm.
Your Aperol Spritz scented candle is now ready to enjoy or give as a gift.
The result
With this recipe, you can make a unique, handmade Aperol Spritz scented candle featuring vibrant orange layers, transparent cocktail details, realistic wax ice cubes, and a sophisticated citrus-floral scent thanks to the “Aurora Orange” fragrance oil. The final result looks just like a freshly poured Aperol Spritz and is guaranteed to be a stylish and summery addition to any home.
