Fresh organic chamomile flowers are used to produce many extracts, including essential oil and hydrosol. There are two types of chamomile from which the hydrosol is obtained. These are German chamomile (Matricaria Chamomilla) and Roman chamomile (Anthemis nobilis). They both have similar properties. Organic Chamomile has long been known for its calming effects on both children and adults, making this floral water an excellent addition to cream sprays, lotions, facial toners, or simply pour some into a spray bottle and use it directly on your skin.

Hydrosol water can be used in lotions, creams, bath preparations or directly on the skin. They have mild toning and skin cleansing properties and are generally safe for all skin types. We produce our waters with their therapeutic value to the skin and body in mind, we do not sell our waters as a fragrance – although of course all waters will have a unique scent some will be significantly lighter in odour than others due to the plant material they are steamed from.

Essential waters are designed to add fragrance to your formulas, while hydrosol waters are designed more for their benefits to the skin and the natural scent is just a bonus.

How do you use organic chamomile hydrosol water?

• Calming Spray : Spray organic chamomile hydrosol throughout the room to dispel negativity, reduce tension and calm an irritable child. Make sure the spray does not get on the baby’s face or body.
• Cleanser for Sensitive Skin : Make your own cleanser for sensitive skin by combining ¼ cup liquid castile soap, ½ cup chamomile hydrosol and 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin in a Pyrex measuring cup. Now carefully pour this mixture into 4 oz dispensers of foaming soap. Your cleansing product for sensitive skin is ready!
• Baby Bath Water : Add about 1/2 cup of chamomile hydrosol to your baby’s bath. Make sure the bath is warm enough and that the chamomile hydrosol does not change the temperature of the water.
• Blonde Hair Rinse : Instead of chamomile tea, you can use organic chamomile hydrosol as a more fragrant hair rinse. Simply add ½ cup organic chamomile hydrosol and ¼ cup water to a Pyrex measuring cup. Now use this as your final hair rinse after showering. You can do this hair rinse for blonde hair to tighten up the highlights for an important event.
