This round wick has undergone special treatment for use in beeswax.

No chemicals are used. No metal core – Pb-free (lead-free), nylon-free.

The wicks are not bleached or treated with substances such as chlorine.

A 30 mm metal support base can be ordered separately.

What wick type do you need?

Whether you use a mold or a container, you need to measure the diameter of your candle. As an example, if your candle is 45 mm in diameter wide, then you need an LK 44/44. If your candle is 60 mm wide, you can choose between LK 55/55 or LK 66/66.

diameter 27 – 30 mm*: CERVINO 42 BK – LK 33/33

diameter 30 – 33 mm*: CERVINO 45 BK – LK 33/33

diameter 33 – 35 mm*: CERVINO 48 BK – LK 33/33

diameter 35 – 40 mm*: CERVINO 54 BK – LK 33/33

diameter 40 – 50 mm*: LK 44/44

diameter 50 – 60 mm*: LK 55/55

diameter 60 – 70 mm*: LK 66/66

diameter 70 – 90 mm*: LK 88/88

This reference is based on sample tests conducted in our laboratory with pure beeswax without dyes and fragrance oils. It is recommended that you conduct your own tests to find the best wick to suit your personal needs.

This size chart is a rough guideline – different waxes, scents and colors all affect the moisture transport of the candle. Trial and error is the only way to guarantee correct wicking.

Special wick for beeswax

Using a special wick for beeswax is important for several reasons:

  1. Temperature resistance: Beeswax has a higher melting point than some other candle materials, such as kerosene. Therefore, the wick must be able to withstand the higher temperatures created when beeswax melts and burns. Special beeswax wicks are designed to withstand these higher temperatures without melting or deforming.
  2. Good burning: A beeswax wick should be able to burn the beeswax evenly and efficiently so that the candle produces a bright and stable flame. If the wick is not suitable for beeswax, this can lead to irregular burning, tunneling in the candle (where the wax melts only along the sides and leaves a tunnel in the middle), or even sooting.
  3. Smoke-free: Beeswax is known for its clean burning, but the right type of wick is still crucial to minimize soot formation. A well-designed beeswax wick helps maintain a clean burn and prevents soot particles from being released into the air.
  4. Longer Burn Time: Special beeswax wicks are designed to burn the beeswax efficiently, making the candle last longer and giving you more enjoyment from your beeswax candle.
  5. Safety: Using the right wick for beeswax ensures that the candle burns safely and is less likely to drip or leak.

Using a special wick for beeswax is essential to achieve the best results when making beeswax candles. It ensures clean, efficient, long-lasting and safe burning of the beeswax, allowing you to enjoy your candles to the fullest. It is important to select the right wick based on the diameter of the candle and the specific properties of the beeswax you are using.
