Botanical INCI: Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil
Synonyms: Geranium, Rose Geranium, Pelargonium.
Origin: Egypt
Description: Geranium is a perennial plant up to 1.5 meters high. Actually the plant is not called geranium, but “Pelargonium”. Since the name Geranium is now fully established, we will continue to use the name Geranium. Pelargonium was imported into Europe from South Africa around 1690. The Geranium is now widely cultivated in the countries around the Mediterranean.
Extraction: Geranium oil is obtained by steam distillation from the top of the flowering plant.
Applications: Aromatherapy applications, perfume industry and skin care products.
Properties: Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, fungicidal, analgesic, antispasmodic, astringent, wound healing, pancreatic stimulant and lymphonic tonic.
Operation / helps with: Acne, burns, broken veins, skin infections, skin and nail fungi, swimmers’ eczema, stress problems and nerve pains.
