Sodium Lactate or Sodium Lactate
Sodium Lactate or Sodium Lactate is a liquid salt naturally derived from the natural fermentation of sugars in grain and beets. In food, sodium lactate can be used as a preservative, or as an inhibitor of bacterial growth. In CP soap, Sodium Lactate helps to make a harder soap that lasts much longer in the shower. Because Sodium Lactate is a salt, it is a natural humectant, and thus a humectant. This makes it a great addition to lotions as a replacement for glycerine in your recipe.
Recommended use: 0.5% – 4%, or about 2 teaspoons per 500 grams of oils.
Instructions : Add sodium lactate to your lye (chilled lye water) when making Cold Process Soap.
Ingredients: Propanoic acid, 2-hydroxy, monosodium salt
INCI: Sodium Lactate
